Greeting Cards and Frameable Art & Classes

Sequim Bay Company entered the greeting card business in the fall of 2003. It is an outlet that lends itself to diversification, originality and creativity. We call our line of greeting cards L'Original because every card is unique, original and is designed, executed and signed by Lauren. Although most are presented as greeting cards (nothing inside), each one can stand on its own as legitimate art, perfectly suitable for framing.
Iris Folding Greeting Cards

Iris Greeting Card.

She started with the revival of an old art from Holland called Iris Folding. The finished creations are composed of dozens of pieces of paper and ribbon folded to enhance the iris theme (iris of the eye). Good for any and all occasions.

Fusion Greeting Cards

Fusion Greeting Card.

Fusion is what we're calling an artform that we haven't seen anywhere else. It combines techniques and use of materials from a number of different artistic types. The finished creations present a metalic appearance, but the whimsical use of wire, beads and lavender (to name but a few) result in a truly unique blend of artistic accomplishments.

Iris Folding Card Classes

Lauren JB Grady teaches classes in Iris Folding and pattern theory in Sequim, Washington and surrounding areas. If you are interested in scheduling a class in your home, you'll need five to eight participants, and a work area with sufficient lighting. The majority of supplies are brought to your home, (including beautiful papers, embellishments, and necessary cutting and gluing supplies) but a small shopping supply list will be provided at the time of scheduling. Work tables may also be provided if necessary.

These classes are great fun even for those who think they "don't have a creative bone in their body..." If you're already artistic, you'll have fun learning a new venue for your talents, and if you're not usually so inclined, you'll discover a wonderful new creative way to express yourself.
